Overview
Syslog protocol is used by network devices/hosts to send messages over the network. SyslogGen is a tool for generating any syslog message. The tool supports the configuration of several syslog message parameters (e.g., facility or severity). SyslogGen can generate syslog messages for test purposes or for activating some action on the server side as a result of syslog message receiving. These can be identical messages with original syslog messages from network devices or from software products. In addition, it is possible to use this tool to send information through the network (e.g., notifications or logs).
With SyslogGen, it is easy to add syslog functionality to your own software products or command scripts (e.g., sending results). Simply run SyslogGen.exe with necessary parameters and send what you need.
Features
Overview
SNMP is a standard protocol for network monitoring and network devices management. Almost all active network devices support SNMP. Moreover, SNMP is supported by the majority of operational systems and by many network applications.
SnmpGet allows you to monitor networks using SNMP. Monitoring is realized by reading SNMP variables from a remote network device. The variables can be of various types and may represent a wide range of information, such as current parameters of the configuration, the status of operations execution, and information on possible errors and failures.
The list of available variables depends on the network device itself or on the SNMP software. You can find the list of variables, available for reading in certain situations, with the help of a separate tool SnmpWalk. Some variables are available for writing. By changing their values with SnmpSet, you can change certain parameters of a network device configuration or perform some actions.
SnmpGet it is a command-line tool. It is easy to use in scripts, which allow for the automation of much routine work of network administrators. This tool supports IPv4 as well as IPv6, so it will not cause any problems while you are upgrading your network infrastructure. Moreover, SnmpGet supports a regular version of the SNMPv1/SNMPv2c protocol and also a safer SNMPv3 which enables you to use this tool without risking the violation of corporate safety policies.
Features
Supports SNMP v1/v2c and SNMpv3
Supports IPv4 and IPv6
Command line interface (CLI)
Any type of SNMP variables
Various Auth. & Privacy protocols
Windows XP-10 compatible
Overview
SNMP is a standard protocol for configuring and management of network devices. Almost all active network devices support SNMP. Besides that, SNMP is supported by many network applications and the majority of operational systems.
SnmpSet allows you to change the values of SNMP variables on network devices supporting this protocol and, in this way, to manage them. Many different actions are realized by means of writing values to variables. This can involve the changing of configuration parameters of a network device and enabling and disabling different features or executions of some certain actions. Thus, SnmpSet allows you to uniformly administer different active network devices and network programs.
The list of SNMP variables differs on different network devices. You can see the list of variables, supported by particular hardware or software, by using a separate tool SnmpWalk. To determine whether it is possible to change the variable value, you should study the documentation or run a test with SnmpSet. You can obtain the value of any available SNMP variable by using the SnmpGet tool.
SnmpSet it is a command-line tool which simplifies its use in scripts and allows you to automate a large number of everyday system administrator actions. This tool supports IPv4 and modern IPv6, allowing you to avoid difficulties when you upgrade network structures. Besides that, SnmpSet, along with supporting a version of the SNMPv1/SNMPv2c protocol which is not safe, also supports a safer version of SNMPv3. This allows you to avoid violations of corporate safety policies in the event you use it.

SNMP is a unified protocol of network monitoring and network device management. All active network devices support SNMP. Besides that, SNMP is supported by major operational systems and a large number of network applications.
SnmpWalk allows you to detect a set of variables that are available for reading on an individual device. You can obtain a full list or just part. By analyzing the results of a network device scan obtained with SnmpWalk, you can develop a list of supported MIBs and, in this way, obtain full descriptions of variables and possible values. Besides that, MIB documents contain information about SNMP variables that are available only for writing. After analyzing information retrieved with SnmpWalk from hardware or software SNMP sources, you can use SnmpSet and SnmpGet tools to change and obtain values.
The value of SnmpWalk is not limited to only the SNMP analysis of supported features. This tool can efficiently get SNMP tables and read whole sections of variables. This mainly refers to tables that are often used for presenting statistical and status information.
SnmpWalk is a command-line tool, which makes possible its use in scripts. This tool supports modern IPv6 in addition to the standard IPv4. Moreover, SnmpWalk allows you to use a simple version of SNMPv1/SNMPv2c and also supports a safe version of SNMPv3.
