The ABBYY Mobile Imaging SDK provides developers with intelligent tools that can analyze photographs of documents captured with mobile devices – and then determine if they are suitable for optical character recognition (OCR), or if they should be retaken. It also offers powerful image processing functions that enhance the quality of photographed documents for better viewing and reading.

The SDK supports the two most popular mobile platforms: Apple iOS and Android.

 

Analysis of Images for OCR

ABBYY Mobile Imaging SDK provides innovative features to evaluate image quality and determine whether or not a photographed document is suitable for Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
The SDK detects images of insufficient quality using the following three criteria: Blurred images, Uneven lighting/glare, Poor lighting/noise.
With the image evaluation feature integrated into an application, users can see in advance if a certain photograph is suitable for OCR or not, thus saving time and optimizing their processes.

 

Enhancement of Visual Quality

The ABBYY SDK delivers an optimal set of features to address the majority of needs in the area of mobile image processing, such as:

Platform Specific

• Available as a dynamic library for Android 2.3 and higher. TAndroid devices must be equipped with the ARMv7 processor.
• Android NDK API is utilized.
• The SDK provides a code sample written in Java that can be compiled into the MISample application. Using the MIPSample application, you can try all image processing functions of the Mobile Imaging SDK.
