PEERSYNC FOR SERVERS
The Standard for File Replication in LAN / WAN Environments
for Windows & NetApp Systems
PeerSync for Servers is the industry standard for file replication and synchronization in WAN environments. Benefitting from over 10 years of continuous refinement, our latest version of PeerSync is ideal for high-volume server transactions over networks using LAN and WAN links, and it offers key features for optimizing the system to your requirements.
PeerSync is job-based and can be configured with multiple jobs per server to operate in the following modes:
· Real-time
· Interval (e.g. every 30 Minutes)
· Scheduled (e.g. Sunday 9:00 am)
· On demand
· At startup
· From the command line
Each job can have its own unique configuration (Definition of Source and Target Folder / System) and its own settings. PeerSync can be used to perform a variety of file replication tasks such as: file replication (one way), file synchronization (bi-directional), file distribution (one to many), and file backup. For backup scenarios, we highly recommend that you check out our PeerSync Backup Editions.

Service Level Agreements are common these days, whether they are internal or external. To ensure that you can meet these service levels, control over your processes is key. PeerSync offers a comprehensive monitoring console to provide you with needed information about your replication jobs. Additionally, PeerSync can provide detailed logs where you can see all transactions performed by the software.
With our byte-level technology, only changed parts of a file will be transferred to the target system to save bandwidth, while file recovery technology enables PeerSync to resume file transfers where they left off in case of a connection loss.
PeerSync can replicate your data in real-time from any Windows Server to a NetApp Filer or from a NetApp Filer to another NetApp Filer.
PeerSync for Servers Enterprise Edition offers support to synchronize reparse points (Windows only) without bringing back the original files from the archive. PeerSync will simply sync the reparse points to the target system.
In addition to boosting productivity by assuring on-demand data availability, PeerSync bolsters the bottom line by decreasing your total cost of ownership via flexible licensing options. PeerSync Server requires minimal setup time and administration and has little impact on your current environment. Powerful options, including Open File Management (VSS), ByteReplicator, TCP, and Multi-Threading, further establish PeerSync as the industrial-strength standard for data protection, distribution, and business continuity.
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 - 2012 R2, Microsoft Azure, NetApp Data ONTAP 7.3.5 and higher, 8x (7-Mode), 8.2 and higher (cDOT), and Cloud ONTAP
Hundreds of Fortune 500 companies, federal agencies and mid-sized businesses use this popular software solution for flexible, "bullet-proof" file synchronization to back up their data - all in one extremely affordable package! Just "set it and forget it," and PeerSync Server unobtrusively manages data on a real-time or scheduled basis.

Comprehensive Monitoring This allows you the ability to monitor PeerSync Server Jobs when running it as a service. PeerSync provides you with current as well as historical data about data synced per job. |
||||
Advanced Reporting These options allow log files, administrative summaries, and email reporting to be configured for individual folders/jobs. |
||||
Unicode compliant PeerSync Server allows you to synchronize files containing Unicode (Mac) and Asian characters. |
||||
Blackout Setting This feature gives you the ability to black out certain times of the day when data can be collected in real-time (from local folders) and processed only when the blackout period has ended. This feature will optimize nightly syncs, as it will eliminate the time-consuming comparison and overhead processing of a scheduled scan. |
||||
Bandwidth Throttling This is a performance-enhancing feature. Based on the timing of actual packets sent and received, PeerSync dynamically adjusts the timing between packets sent to optimize bandwidth utilization. |
||||
ACL Transfer This options allows the transfer of File and Folder Security Descriptions to the target system (only recommended within the same domain). |
||||
Multi-Threading It allows PeerSync to transfer multiple files parallel from the source to the target machine(s). |
||||
Byte-Level Replication It allows PeerSync to send byte-level changes from the source to the target machine without sending the whole file. |
||||
Open File Management (VSS) Volume Shadow Copy Service allows PeerSync to access locked files (open files) and transfer them to the target system. |
||||
Enhanced Scanning If enabled, it will dynamically split jobs into sub jobs for more efficient scanning and improved performance. |
||||
Enhanced Package Support for alternate target paths in case the connection to the original path is failing. It also enables SNMP Reporting for PeerSync as well as File Recovery, so PeerSync can resume file transfer where it left off when a network failure occurs. |
||||
Reparse Points PeerSync supports Symantec Enterprise Vault reparse point replication. With this option, you can backup your data and reparse points to another machine without bringing the files back from the vault. |
||||
Administrative Override Back up data from directories that the administrator has no access to. Very useful for Home Directories where the Admin often has NO access rights. |
||||
NetApp CIFS support With the NetApp CIFS connector, you can synchronize files and changes in real-time from NetApp to Windows or NetApp to NetApp. |
||||
TCP WAN Connector TCP can be beneficial when trying to synchronize files to a location over the internet. NOTE: We strongly recommend the use of a VPN when transferring files over the public internet. |
