System Requirements

SecureRecovery for Excel runs on most Windows PC that operates MS Excel. Windows versions that are not supported, however, include Windows 95, 98, and ME.

 

To run SecureRecovery for Excel, your computer should have:

  • Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 2003 Server, or 2008 Server Operating System
  • 256-1024 MB of RAM (larger files and greater data corruption require more RAM)
  • Minimum of 10 MB Free Space
  • 640 x 480 or Higher Resolution Display, 256 Colors

 

Using SecureRecovery for Excel

Operating this utility is easy. A user interface guides you through the entire process from start to finish, and it only takes a few clicks to restore damaged files. The step-by-step process generally consists of the following:

  1. Backup your corrupted file on a CD or network drive.
  2. Start SecureRecovery for Excel.
  3. Select ""Recover . . . item"" from the File menu to open a file selection dialog box.
  4. Select the damaged file and click ""Recover.""
  5. Do not turn off the computer during this process. When the recovery operation is complete, a prompt will appear.
  6. Save the newly recovered spreadsheet with a new file name. The utility will assign a default name and add ""Recovered"" to the original.
