MailEnable Professional Edition

Professional Edition

Professional Mail Server Edition

MailEnable Professional Edition includes all features of MailEnable Standard Edition plus additional features such as Mobile Webmail and Web Administration, 3rd party antivirus scanning, and enhanced anti-spam features. Professional Edition provides the features and flexibility to make it the ideal mail hosting solution for small to medium sized organizations. Features include:

Mail Services

MailEnable Professional Edition provides additional mail Protocols to provide extra functionality and flexible mail access for end-users. Supported mail protocols include POP, SMTP, IMAP and Webmail.

POP Retrieval

Access multiple email accounts centrally! POP retrieval allows you to collect mail from other POP mail accounts and deliver locally. Users can configure their own settings for POP retrieval directly from webmail.

Exchange ActiveSync for MailEnable

ActiveSync provides the highest level of integration for the latest mobile devices including iPhone/iPad, Android and Windows Phone 7. It is also available on most other mobile platforms.

ActiveSync is able to negotiate changes and updates protocol uses a technology that is often referred to as "Push". The "push" technology means that changes made on the mobile device are synchronized with the MailEnable server (and vice-versa) without requiring polling.

ActiveSync is also a very efficient protocol and minimizes the amount of data that is sent over the mobile network.

Exchange ActiveSync for MailEnable is licensed per mailbox per annum.

Mobile Webmail

An all-new Mobile Webmail was introduced in Version 7, a client designed exclusively for smartphones and tablets that is light-weight and supports swipe scrolling.

The mobile client also allows you to automatically login, so you can access your inbox and contacts quickly. You can also tile the screens so they are readily available on your mobile device.

Mobile Webmail Tasks & Calendaring

Version 8 includes an updated version of the Mobile Webmail client which includes support for Tasks and Calendaring.

Device Aware

In Version 8, Webmail is now device aware and will provide Apple users with a link to configure the inbuilt device mail and collaboration client features.

When an iPhone user attempts to access Webmail, an icon is provided within the Webmail client to automatically configure the iPhone's mail, calendar, tasks and contacts capabilities.

Web Administration

Manage post offices centrally or delegate rights to individual post office managers. Manage users, mailboxes, lists, groups & domains from your web browser. .NET Web Administration includes multilingual support.

Content Filtering

Control and organise mail using global content filtering Define rules for messages eg: forward emails, execute applications, delete messages with certain content, mark spam messages or quarantine messages containing attachments

Synchronizing Contacts/Tasks/Calendars with Mobile Devices (SyncML Support)

SyncML allows the synchronization of MailEnable calendar, tasks and contacts with mobile devices (phones, PDAs and Outlook). The SyncML server detects changes made to your contacts and prepares the updates for transmission to SyncML clients.

Likewise, changes made on your SyncML device are transacted to the server. MailEnable communicates with mobile devices via WBXML encapsulation, which reduces bandwidth and is supported by leading mobile handset providers.

Accessing Server-Side Calendars from Mobile Devices (CalDAV Support)

CalDAV allows leading email clients and mobile devices (including the Apple iPhone), to access MailEnable mailbox calendars. CalDAV is ideal for mobile users who wish to access and update their calendar in real time.

To configure CalDAV, the client is configured with a URL to point to the server calendar. It is also possible to configure CalDAV to access another user's calendar by specifying their calendar address in the URL. MailEnable Synchronization Service is responsible for providing CalDAV connectivity to MailEnable mailboxes over the HTTP protocol

Enhanced Anti-Spam

Guard your inbox from unwanted junk mail using anti-spam features including SPF, Bayesian Filtering, Greylisting, DKIM and URL Blacklist Content Filtering, which prevents spammers 'forging' email addresses to send spam. Other anti-spam features include; DNS blacklisting, global filtering, PTR record checking and much more.

Anti-virus Protection

Protect your system from viruses! Professional Edition integrates with a variety of third party antivirus solutions in order to scan and remove viruses on all incoming or outgoing messages.

Security

Extensive security measures and authentication methods protect your mail server from unauthorised access. Includes SMTP authentication, integrated Windows authentication, relay control, SSL, NTLM & CRAM-MD5 support.

Export Contacts

Users can now export all their contacts as a CSV file (Outlook compatible format) with a simple click of a button. Extra contact fields are also supported for imports.

MailEnable API Doc

MailEnable's configuration can be controlled externally by a powerful API which allows you to easily integrate with, or expand on the mail server. Full documentation and sample applications for integrating MailEnable into your project are available.

Send Contact as vCard Attachment

Users can now send a contact card from contacts in their Address Book.

A simple right-click on a contact allows the option to send the contact as a vCard. This will then open up the compose screen, and a new message will be created automatically containing the vCard as an attachment, and ready to be sent

Add Recipients as New Contacts After Sending

Webmail now provides the ability to add new recipient contacts to their Address Book after sending a message.

When this option is enabled (via "Options>Mail"), Webmail will prompt the user whether to quickly add any recipient contacts that are not already in the Address Book as new contacts, after a message has been sent.

Users have the ability to specify which email addresses to add when sending messages to multiple recipients, and can also quickly input first/last names for these new contacts on the spot.

Service Autodiscovery Management

Version 8 provides a simple Autodiscovery Configuration Manager, allowing you to configure the settings returned to devices when users attempt to set up new accounts.

Settings for autodiscovery can be configured on a per domain basis for an array of services including IMAP, POP, SMTP, CalDAV, CardDAV and ActiveSync.

This new feature means that end users will simply need to enter their email address and password on the device and the server and port settings will be automatically configured on the client.

Automated Account Creation on Apple Devices

MailEnable Version 8 also includes "one-click" configuration for Apple iOS devices. Setting up an iPhone account is now automated whether you are using Exchange ActiveSync or CalDAV / CardDAV / IMAP.

This feature means that mail users can now configure their iOS device with CalDAV / CardDAV / IMAP as a single service, simply by clicking on a link within Webmail or Mobile Webmail.

Administrators can also provide a link for Apple users to click on which will automatically configure their device.

Integrated Global Footers/Disclaimers

System and Post Office Administrators are now able to add global or Post Office footers to messages as they are sent to external parties. Mailboxes which are administrators are able to configure this through Web Administration.

IMAP Speed/Bandwidth Improvements (UIDPLUS Extension Support)

MailEnable recently provided some significant speed and resource improvements to its IMAP and core messaging services. The IMAP service has received yet another boost in that it now supports the UIDPLUS extension. The UIDPLUS extension is available in many email clients and has recently been embraced in Outlook 2010 to boost its IMAP performance.

Greylisting SPF Exclusions by Domain

Greylisting is the most effective single mechanism of reducing spam, but its effectiveness has been limited by delaying legitimate messages (particularly from large service providers like Gmail and Yahoo!). With MailEnable, domains that have SPF records can be whitelisted, significantly improving the effectiveness of Greylisting.

Country Code Blocking

Administrators have the ability to block incoming communications from certain countries by targeting specific country codes. This allows the admin to block potentially harmful or unwanted data from suspicious sources.

EHLO Blocking

Users can specify strings for the SMTP service that will allow it to drop connections when connections use specific EHLO values.

My Files

My Files is a server hosted file storage feature available from MailEnable Professional Edition.

Through webmail you are able to upload files and save attachments from emails into your My Files storage. These files can then be emailed as attachments, or, with the use of the File Viewer, accessed in an easy to use way.

Images and MP3s can be viewed and played from within webmail.

File Viewer

The File Viewer user interface provides users with a rich and enhanced experience when previewing files (in particular images) that have been published via MailEnable Webmail.

Users will now be able to zoom in/out of an image, automatically resize it to fit the current window size, reset it to its original size (100%), and change the background color for a better contrasting viewing effect.

Personalization

MailEnable's Webmail allows users to personalize their interface by customizing background watermarks, and the ability to configure opacity and position of the background image. Users can also upload images to their My Files storage location and use these images as background watermarks.
