XTools AGP for ArcGIS Pro
XTools AGP Features
XTools AGP is a new add-in for the ArcGIS Pro application. Initially provided with a fewer tools and features it will represent broader functionality of the popular XTools Pro extension to ArcGIS for Desktop extending ArcGIS Pro and facilitating transition to this new GIS application for the end-users.
Split Polylines
Provides ArcGIS Pro users with capabilities to split polyline features into separate segments in various customizable ways.
The “Split Polylines” tool provides ArcGIS Pro users with capabilities to split polyline features into separate segments in various customizable ways.
Available splitting methods:
Split Polygons
Provides ArcGIS Pro users with capabilities to split input polygons into separate polygons using various customizable methods, including splitting polygons by polyline polygon vector layer or graphic layer.
The “Split Polygons” tool provides ArcGIS Pro users with capabilities to split input polygons into separate polygons using various customizable methods, including splitting polygons by polyline polygon vector layer or graphic layer.
If there is a feature intersecting a polygon, it can be used to split the polygon (for example, if you need to draw forest boundary by road or river).
Vector features by which you wish to split input polygons should actually intersect polygons, otherwise polygons will not be split.
Additional tool options available:
Use selected features – only selected input and overlay features will be split.
Use buffer – constant buffer value will be used and the buffer value from the field will be derived.
Add ID field of the source features - ID field that contains source features ID will be added to the attribute table of output layer. Default ID field name can be changed.
Divide Overlapping Areas
Provides ArcGIS Pro users with capabilities to divide overlapping polygon features by center lines of the overlapping areas.
The tool is provided for dividing the overlapping polygon features by medial line of the overlapping area.
If the input layer contains overlapping polygons, then for each overlapping area the medial line is defined. The found medial line becomes a new boundary of the overlapping polygons.
See example below.
Overlapping input features:
Overlapping area is divided by medial line:
As a result, the polygons shapes are modified according to the medial line:
Convert Features to Points
Provides ArcGIS Pro users with capabilities to convert polygon and polyline features to points with customizable options.
The tool provides ArcGIS Pro users with capabilities to convert polygon and polyline features to points with customizable options.
Options available for selecting input feature points:
All points
- all points (nodes) forming input features will be converted
Start point
- only the start points will be converted
End point
- only the end points will be converted
Start and End points
- both start and end points will be converted
Center point
- only the center points will be converted
Self-intersection points
- points of self-intersections will be converted
Equidistant points (fixed number)
- a given number of equidistant points will be derived from the input features and converted to points
Equidistant points (fixed interval)
- equidistant points with the fixed specified interval between them will be derived from the input features and converted to points.
Convex Hull
Allows building convex and detailed hulls for features of any geometry type (points, polylines, and polygons).
Concave Hull
Allows building concave and detailed hulls for features of any geometry type (points, polylines, and polygons).
Convert Polygons to Polylines
Converts selected polygons to single part polylines and stores them in new shapefile or geodatabase feature class.
Make Polygons from Points
Allows converting points from to one or multiple polygons.
Make Polygons from Polylines
Allows converting polylines into one or multiple polygons.
Make Polylines from Points
Allows converting points to one or multiple polylines. Resulting polylines can be saved in a new shapefile or as a geodatabase feature class.
Add X, Y, Z Coordinates
Adds X, Y, and Z coordinates to attribute tables of point, multipoint, polyline, and polygon layers.
Calculate Geometry
Сalculates perimeter and area values (including hectares and acres) for polygon layers and length for polyline layers.
Export Table to MS Excel
Allows exporting table data to the Microsoft Excel application.
Export Table to File
Allows exporting table data to HTML files, Microsoft Excel files or text files.
“Go to” tools
Tools for viewing your current map location displayed in ArcMap data frame in online map services Google Maps, Microsoft Bing Maps, OpenStreetMap, and in Google Earth, ArcGIS Earth or ArcGIS Explorer desktop applications.
Copy Layer Properties
Provides advanced options for copying properties between layers.
Build Thiessen Polygons
Builds Thiessen polygons from point features.
Identity
Сreates new layer with additional attributes by overlaying two feature layers.
Erases features from the input layer by features of the overlaying layer.
Update Polygon Layer
Finds geometric intersection of the input and overlay features and updates features.

Volusia County GIS Manager
I have used XTools for many years and find it an extremely valuable resource, so much so that I got copies for each member of my team. The range of tasks it handles expands & improves at each release and support is excellent. My license has more than paid for itself in saved time and pulled hair when trying to get a task accomplished. My personal GIS tool chest would not be complete without XTools.
