FusionCharts Licensing Update and Next Steps

As mentioned in our previous email that we are introducing a license validation and activation system for FusionCharts starting v3.15.3; you must have received license keys for your license from our sales team.

We’ll be doing the public release of v3.15.3 on September 14, 2020.

To activate the license, please follow these three steps after the release of v3.15.3:

1. Download the latest version of FusionCharts for the choice of your framework.
2. Embed the library in your project. In case you don’t know how to use FusionCharts, learn how to create your first chart.
3. Add the license key to your project. In your case, the snippet would look like:

FusionCharts.options.license({

  key: "",

  creditLabel: false

});

What if I don’t want to upgrade to v3.15.3?

No worries, you can continue using the existing version which you have without any issues. However, the moment you decide to use any version after v.3.15.3, you have to provide license keys. And if you upgrade and do not provide the keys, then the watermark will appear.

However…

If you are using FusionCharts in the following ways:

• Using this CDN link: https://cdn.fusioncharts.com/fusioncharts/latest/fusioncharts.js
• Or your package.json does not have absolute versions of FusionCharts. For example, { “fusioncharts”: “*” } which indicates upgrade to any latest available version available

Then your FusionCharts will be automatically upgraded to the latest version and watermark will appear in your application automatically. To avoid this, provide an absolute version of FusionCharts. For example in the case of v3.14.1:

• CDN link should be:  https://cdn.fusioncharts.com/fusioncharts/3.14.1/fusioncharts.js
• package.json configuration should be: { “fusioncharts”: “3.14.1” }
