PRTG Manual: Ajax Web Interface—Basic Procedures

The PRTG web interface is your access to PRTG via the web. Use the PRTG web interface as default interface to set up your monitoring.

Configure devices and sensors, set up notifications, review monitoring results, create reports, visualize your monitoring on dashboards, and other features to complete your monitoring.

The PRTG web interface is based on Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX). It uses responsive design to adjust to the size of your screen as required. The PRTG web interface shows all object setting dialogs as pop-up layers, so you never lose the current context.

While you are logged in, the PRTG web interface continuously refreshes the data on the screen via AJAX calls. This way, you are always up to date regarding current monitoring results. You can individually set the refresh interval and method.

Because of Single Page Application (SPA) technology, your system stays highly performant because only single page elements are refreshed when necessary.
