Native backup for the databases IBM Spectrum Protect does not cover.

Data Protector connects MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SAP ASE, and SAP IQ to IBM Spectrum Protect — online, incremental, verified by IBM.

WHY THIS CONVERSATION EXISTS

Open-source databases are in production. IBM Spectrum Protect is still the system of record. Dump-to-disk plus a file job is a race condition: the copy can be corrupt while the job still says OK. Data Protector is the missing connector to Spectrum Protect — not a second backup product.
