As data shows, CentOS7 is a widely used open-source operating system with many Nagios users adopting it today.

Recently, Red Hat has made the announcement CentOS7 will reach end of life (EOL) on June 30, 2024. Once CentOS7 reaches EOL, customers will no longer be able to install or upgrade new software versions. In addition, if customers want to perform a migration to a newer OS, they will not be able to install CentOS7 on a test server for proper migration testing.

We strongly recommend customers upgrade to a more current Operating System (OS) distribution, such as CentOS Stream/RHEL 8/9 or a newer, supported version of Ubuntu and Debian. This ensures customers can continue to utilize current and future versions of the Nagios Monitoring Suite and have the ability to keep up with bug fixes, security patches, and new features.
