Progress is proud to announce that WS_FTP Professional, the industry’s leading secure file transfer protocol, is now even better.

WS_FTP Professional 12.8 is available as of July 29, 2021. WS_FTP Pro 12.8 is the same dependable, secure FTP you’ve come to expect, but with exciting new improvements and updated features.

Improvements

Support for additional key exchange (KEX) algorithms.

Hidden files and folders option – files and folders that are marked as hidden are only visible if the WS_FTP Professional user explicitly requests that they are visible via the display option.

Open-source third-party component documentation.

Rebranding of UI and documentation as Progress WS_FTP Professional.

Updates

Command Line, Utilities - The scripting utility and command line respect the startup mode when it is set to binary and the site profile is used.

FTP - The ASCII mode is respected when a script calls a site that forces ASCII mode, and the script is called from the command line.

For WS_FTP Professional 12.6 and newer, a direct upgrade is easy to install and is available via the WS_FTP Professional installer.
