PCMark 10

PCMark 10 — The Complete Benchmark

PCMark 10 is the latest version in our series of industry standard PC benchmarks. Updated for Windows 10 with new and improved workloads, PCMark 10 is also faster and easier to use.

PCMark 10 features a comprehensive set of tests that cover the wide variety of tasks performed in the modern workplace. With a range of performance tests, custom run options, Battery Life Profile, and new Storage benchmarks, PCMark 10 is the complete PC benchmark for the modern office.

Easy to use

PCMark 10 is easy to install and run, no complicated configuration required. PCMark 10 measures complete system performance for modern office needs using tests based on real-world applications and activities. Run any of the benchmark tests and you'll get a score that you can use to compare systems. Or run the five battery life scenarios to test and compare laptop battery life.

Fast and efficient

With its new and improved workloads, the main PCMark 10 benchmark takes less than half the time of the equivalent test in PCMark 8.

Just click run

In PCMark 10, you no longer have to choose between the Accelerated and Conventional benchmarking modes used in PCMark 8.

Multi-level reporting

Each benchmark run produces a high-level benchmark score, mid-level test group scores, and low-level workload scores.

New yet familiar

PCMark 10 shares the same style of user interface as 3DMark and VRMark. With its familiar layout, it's easy to start benchmarking with PCMark 10.

PCMark 10 benchmark

The main PCMark 10 benchmark test is ideal for organizations that are evaluating PCs for a workforce with a range of performance needs.

The PCMark 10 benchmark covers a wide range of activities from everyday productivity tasks to demanding work with digital media content.

PCMark 10 Express

PCMark 10 Express is a shorter benchmark that focuses on basic work tasks. It is a good choice when tendering for PCs for general office use.

The PCMark 10 Express benchmark focuses on the performance needs of a typical office worker. It is less demanding than the main PCMark 10 test.

PCMark 10 Extended

PCMark 10 Extended is a longer test that provides organizations with a complete assessment of system performance beyond typical office work tasks.

PCMark 10 Extended expands the main PCMark 10 benchmark with demanding graphics and physics tests that focus on GPU and CPU performance.

Essentials

The Essentials group covers the common, everyday ways that people use a PC. The workloads include Web Browsing, Video Conferencing, and App Start-up time.

Productivity

The Productivity test group measures system performance with everyday office applications. This test group includes the Spreadsheets and Writing workloads.

Digital Content Creation

This test group's workload reflect the demands of working with digital content and media. The tests include Photo Editing, Video Editing, and Rendering and Visualization.

Gaming

The Gaming test group focuses on real-time graphics and physics. It includes two Graphics tests for GPU performance, a Physics test for CPU performance, and a Combined test.

PCMark 10 Battery Life benchmark

Test battery life across a range of common scenarios

PCMark 10 Battery Life benchmark

PCMark 10 introduces a new approach to battery life benchmarking. Instead of producing a single number, a PCMark 10 Battery Life Profile provides a broad view of battery life across five common scenarios: Modern Office, Applications, Video, Gaming, and Idle. Better battery benchmarking starts with a Battery Life Profile.

PCMark 10 Applications benchmark

Test PC performance with Microsoft Office applications

PCMark 10 Applications benchmark

The PCMark 10 Applications benchmark measures practical, real-world PC performance for the modern workplace with tests that run in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Edge.

With this test, you can also benchmark the latest Always Connected PCs powered by Windows 10 on Arm, with results that are comparable with scores from traditional x86-based devices.

PCMark 10 Storage benchmarks

Modern storage benchmarks for modern storage devices

Full System Drive Benchmark

The Full System Drive Benchmark uses a wide-ranging set of real-world traces from popular applications and common tasks to fully test the performance of the fastest modern drives.

Quick System Drive Benchmark

The Quick System Drive Benchmark is a shorter test with a smaller set of less demanding real-world traces that is designed for smaller system drives that are unable to run the Full System Drive benchmark.

Data Drive Benchmark

The Data Drive Benchmark is designed to test drives that are used for storing files rather than applications. You can also use this test with NAS drives, USB sticks, memory cards, and other external storage devices.

Drive Performance Consistency Test

The Drive Performance Consistency Test is a long-running test with a heavy, continuous load. In-depth reporting for expert users shows how the performance of the drive varies under different conditions.
